Hackney Flea Market

The business

A series of pop-up vintage markets in London: salvage, antiques, furniture, lighting.

What I changed

Put the next market dates and the ticket button first, split the page by what a visitor wants (visit, sell, learn more), and made the layout mobile-first.

Why

People usually arrive wanting one thing: when is the next market, and how do I get in. Everything else can wait.

Bolton of New Farnley

The business

A family-run garage on Whitehall Road, Leeds, open since 1960. MOTs for bikes, cars, motorhomes, minibuses and goods vehicles, plus servicing and repairs.

What I changed

Led with the one thing most visitors want: an MOT while they wait, with the phone number and a live open or closed status up front. Added a vehicle-class picker, split the services into clear rows, and made it work on a phone.

Why

The old site told visitors to upgrade Internet Explorer and had no mobile layout. Someone looking for a garage needs an MOT slot today and a number to call, so that comes first.

Giuseppe’s Ristorante & Pizzeria

giuseppes-mockup.hassanjaved61.workers.dev

The business

Bristol’s oldest Italian restaurant, on Baldwin Street in the Old City. It opened in 1961 as Marco’s, and Giuseppe has run it for decades.

What I changed

Turned the PDF menu into a menu you can use on a phone: section tabs, a vegetarian filter, search, and a starter or main toggle for the pasta. Put the phone number, the live open or closed status and the real opening hours up front, and told the 1961 story properly.

Why

The old site is built on a 2016 default theme, its own Find Us link leads to a page-not-found error, and you have to open a PDF to see the menu. Someone choosing where to eat wants the menu and a table, so those come first.

Unofficial concept. Not affiliated with Giuseppe’s Ristorante & Pizzeria. Menu details and business information are from their public website. Photos are stock images, not theirs. Prices are from their November 2024 menu and may have changed. If you represent the business and want this removed, use the contact page and I will take it down.
